bespoke shelving unit
Partition
In search of a dividing unit for her delightful pied-à-terre in Rome, my client was seeking storage space for accessories and glassware, display space for books, a small desk for writing and a rear unit to hide a closed-off sleeping area. By playing with shelves and asymmetrical decor, I came up with a way to unify these functional aspects in a piece of narrative decor which functions as a centrepiece for the house.
Finding the voice of a home is like following a musical score: movements, accents, listening, silence.
Neutral colours and shapes that appear suddenly supported by a light structure which highlights their spontaneity, restoring movement to the piece, as in musical improvisation where everything is continually being made and born again.
